“Pas(t)imes in the Computer Lab” subverts the “domestic” painting of a woman knitting next to a window to recontextualize her craft as weaving the wires of an early computer.

Co-creative Green Teaming AI workshops seek to identify existing, and develop new, analytical devices for mapping how environment, nature, and environmental concerns are (re)presented in GenAI. Together with our participants, we analyse how environmental norms, values, and expectations are embedded by default and can be elicited in GenAI outputs and related tools. We collaboratively explore the possibility of different representations by formulating alternatives to these dominant embeddings.
